Behavior and Needs go together. Whatever behavior youth exhibit, its always closely related to a need of some sort. The need should be our primary concern, rather than simply focusing on the youth’s behavior. Youth who grow up in stressful environments may have learned to go to extremes to have their needs met. It is our responsibility, as caring adults, to help youth develop new comping skills and find ways to meet their needs.
