This class will provide an introduction to DBT -Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Created by Therapist Dr. Marsha Linehan who was treating Borderline Personality Disorder and suicidal patients, Dr. Linehan did not feel the traditional methods, standard therapy, or CBT alone met the needs of patients. Through her research and studying, she developed DBT which she incorporated the Technology of Acceptance with Problem Solving, Mindfulness, Reality Acceptance, CBT. She obtained research and DBT became evidenced based practice These techniques have had powerful success with youth who struggle with anxiety and behavioral issues.

Instructor: Rochelle Bard, M.S.S.W.
