There are some in the FLC community who may feel stress after the emotionally taxing and polarizing presidential election, inauguration and implementation of policies such as eliminating DEI programs and departments at the federal level and laying off workers as well as sending thousands of troops to the Texas and California borders.
The FLC Equity Center invites all FLC faculty, students and staff as our Thoughtful Tuesday event continues: Thoughtful Tuesday Wellness Walk and Talks Tuesday: February 4 starting at 12:00 noon inside the Equity Center. We will meet in the Equity Center and decide our walking path and head out by 12:05 pm.
We will walk around campus for the purpose of connecting and being mindful of stress reduction and wellness for 15 to 30 minutes each session. Join us for the whole walk, or a bit of it depending on your schedule and availability. Wear comfortable walking shoes. You are also encouraged to Optionally wear red, black and green or African attire in recognition, solidarity and celebration of Black History Month. These events are led by our Equity Center Staff members, Dr. Addie Ellis, Dr. Victoire Chochezi and Destiny Akins-Adams.
We don't always remember to take a picture, but check out the photo above to see who joined us last week.
