Are you a STEM major? Are you considering a career with the State of CA? Join us for this Internship Info Session with the Department of Water Resources!
The Department of Water Resources (DWR), established in 1956 by the California State Legislature, manages California's water resources, systems, and infrastructure, including the State Water Project, with a focus on responsible and sustainable practices. DWR integrates climate change response into every project, setting standards to ensure climate resilience across the department. Its mission is to manage California's water resources sustainably, in partnership with other agencies, to benefit the state's people while protecting and enhancing natural and human environments. DWR also fosters a workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, promoting civility and respect.
The department offers a Student Employment Program, providing students with hands-on training in various fields such as biology, engineering, and information technology. Through this program, students can gain valuable experience while pursuing their academic studies.
