Just like anyone else, children can create “walls” built for their own protection. When faced with barriers, you may ask yourself, “How can I get through to this child”? Well, more rules are definitely not the answer. To break down these walls, we need the courage to be vulnerable, the patience to be consistent and the heart to see the child behind the armor.
This class gives you the permission to move past the “logistics” of caregiving and dig deep into the soul of vulnerability. Together, let’s explore ways to find a balance between keeping a child close enough to feel safe and giving them the space to learn to be their authentic selves. In this workshop, we will explore the “creation of walls”, to help you see the “need” behind the defense. You will discover how your persistence can slowly turn those walls into bridges.
“Let’s turn walls into windows-so we call see the heart of the child, and they can see their future.”
