Student Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
We have been informed by the Division of State Architects (DSA) that Davies Hall may be vulnerable to damage and become a safety risk in the case of a seismic event. With this information and keeping the health and safety of our community at the forefront, we will be closing Davies Hall effective Friday, September 8. We understand that there will be many questions in the coming days and weeks and will continue to update this FAQ page to provide additional guidance and information.
We have identified classroom space for 100% of the in-person classes from Davies Hall, watch for a communication from your professors with details about how and where your classes will be meeting.
The ARC Library has laptops available to loan to students who need them or you can use computers in-person in the LRC Computer Lab, the Business Computer Lab (STEM 301) or the Library. Check the Technology Resources webpage for additional resources available for you.
The Learning Resource Center and Library both have available spaces, headphones, and computers (if needed) to allow you to Zoom into your class. You can also use the Business Computer Lab in STEM 301 from 7 AM - 10:30 AM and noon - 8 PM) which has computers and wifi available.
Given the short amount of time that we expect classes to be fully online (approximately two weeks), we hope that all students will stay enrolled and work with their instructor(s) to access any support or resources during this temporary period to make sure they can be successful. We will do everything we can to support you in staying enrolled and completing your class(es).
If staying enrolled during the temporary online period is simply not an option, a special exemption will be provided to allow students taking classes in Davies to receive an excused withdrawal for their class(es) without penalty.
