As a federally funded program, TRIO Educational Talent Search must adhere to guidelines established by the Federal government. Previously, participants were required to be U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents. However, a new waiver through The California Higher Education Collaborative now allows the ARC TRIO ETS program to enroll students regardless of their citizenship status.
Two-thirds of students must meet federal low-income guidelines and be a first-generation college student.
The other 1/3 of students can be any student enrolled at a target school site.
Students must also demonstrate the potential to succeed in post-secondary education.
Participants must submit an application for acceptance into the program.
