Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month

Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month Graphic

In collaboration with the Los Rios WEAVE Advocate Tess Covarrubias and the Los Rios Student Health and Wellness Centers, ARC is participating in several impactful initiatives for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month — and we’d love for you to join us!

Paint the Campus Teal

  • You may have seen teal ribbons with a quote/resource card tied to trees across campus – part of our Paint the Campus Teal Campaign. Look for them on our trees to see them in person.
  • Join us by wearing teal or a teal ribbon this month to show support, promote consent, and support survivors. Stop by the Student Health and Wellness Center to pick one up while supplies last.
  • This month's Stall News is themed for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. Look for these in bathrooms across campus or download the digital copy to read and share.
  • Want to help us spread awareness? Pick up extra quote/resource flyers and teal ribbons at the Student Health and Wellness Center front desk. We have resources available at our front desk for students and staff as well.

"I'm hoping that in talking about it, that it's helping a lot of other men to be free, because there are so many of us who don't say anything...the pressure lifts every time you talk, every time you are able to help someone else." by Tyler Perry.

"I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it" by Maya Angelou.

Denim Day

  • We will be participating in Denim Day on Wednesday, April 30. Join us by wearing jeans and stopping by our table for resources and activities. More details to come about location and time!
  • Denim Day is a global movement aimed at raising awareness about sexual assault, challenging myths about sexual violence, and standing in solidarity with survivors.

Mental Health Therapy and Advocacy

  • Make an appointment for free therapy sessions with our mental health team.
    • Staff Referral - please inform students the referral and ensure their phone number is accurate. Employees will need to be logged into your Los Rios Google email to access the form (WID@apps.losrios.edu).
    • Togetherall Peer Support: Find a safe online space to connect anonymously with other students to get and give support – available 24/7.
    • BetterMynd Online Therapy: Talk to an online licensed therapist during the day, evenings, and weekends. BetterMynd also has a 24/7 On-Demand Emotional Support and Crisis Resources 1 (844) BTR-MYND (287-6963).
    • Gender Health Center (GHC) - offers free therapy services (in-person at GHC or virtual/telehealth) for students who identify as SGL/2SLGBTQIA+ or questioning.
