Bias Response Team

Primary Role

• The primary role of the team is to assess reported instances of bias in the campus community and to facilitate a college response based on the details of the incident, and to educate the campus community about bias and bias reporting protocols.
• The team does not exist to supplant current protocols that exist to resolve other reports of issues around discrimination, sexual misconduct or harassment, student conduct violations or violations of criminal law. Instead, the team serves the community by ensuring an effective and efficient response to complaints of bias.

 Process

• Through a form available on the Bias Response website, the team makes an initial assessment of the report, and determines the appropriate route for resoluti It may be routed to a more appropriate entity or compliance office, such as the Student Advocacy and Accountability Office, Campus Police, HR or other compliance officer or it may reside with the team for resolution.
