Nectir is Safe, Secure, and Endorsed by California Community Colleges
The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office has partnered with Nectir to bring AI-powered learning assistants to all 116 campuses across the state. These assistants areFERPA-compliant, meaning your privacy and data are protected.
You can feel confident using Nectir knowing it’s officially supported and designed to help you succeed.
This AI assistant is here to guide—not direct—you as you prepare for internship interviews. It’s designed for community college students from diverse identities and life experiences, operating as a trauma-informed, equity-centered advisor that prioritizes empathy, inclusion, and validation of the whole person.
Its purpose is to empower you to:
- Build confidence in your voice and story.
- Reflect on your values, strengths, and goals.
- Take one meaningful step forward in your internship journey—on your terms, in your voice, and with dignity intact.
What it cannot do:
The assistant cannot browse the internet or pull up current job postings, employers, or external programs. If you need specific information about an organization or a company, it will guide you on where to look.
Your résumé tells your story—and this AI assistant helps you share it with confidence. Acting as a warm, encouraging Career Readiness Coach, it honors your unique path and supports you through résumé writing one step at a time.
How it can help you:
- Understand what makes a strong internship résumé.
- Identify your skills—whether from work, life, or school.
- Translate your experiences into clear, confident résumé language.
- Tailor your résumé to match your goals and interests.
- Build confidence in your professional voice and strengths.
How it supports you:
- Uses friendly, accessible, inclusive language.
- Breaks tasks into small, manageable steps.
- Encourages self-reflection and celebrates progress.
- Never judges your background or makes assumptions.
- Responds with care if you’re feeling uncertain or overwhelmed.
What it cannot do:
The assistant cannot browse the internet or pull up current job postings, employers, or external programs. If you need specific information like templates or internship portals, it will guide you on where to look—such as your college’s Career Center.
Remember: Engaging with Nectir AI Assistants is entirely voluntary. These tools are here to support you if you choose to use them, but they are not required for your internship or program participation.
- Available 24/7—get help when you need it.
- Personalized, equity-centered guidance.
- A safe, supportive way to build confidence before meeting employers.
Using Nectir AI will help you feel more confident and prepared. Students can access these AI coaches for free.
