Find Your Community
At American River College, YOU belong here! And that means finding the people, programs, and spaces that help you thrive. Whether you’re looking for academic support through a HomeBase, connection and shared experience through a Learning Community, or a welcoming space to explore identity and culture in the UNITE Center, ARC offers many ways to build your community. Discover where you fit, grow your support network, and make your ARC experience truly your own.
HomeBase
HomeBases are your academic and support hub at ARC. Each HomeBase is designed around a group of related majors, so you can easily connect with people who share your interests and goals. In your HomeBase, you’ll find dedicated success coaches, counselors, and faculty ready to help you plan your classes, explore careers, and stay on track. It’s also a great place to study, hang out, and get connected to campus resources and events.
Learning Communities
A Learning Community brings together classes, faculty, and students around a common theme, major, or shared experience. By taking linked courses together, you build stronger connections with classmates, get more personalized support from instructors, and explore your subject in a deeper, more connected way. It’s a chance to collaborate, share ideas, and grow alongside peers who are on the same journey.
Pride Learning Community
The learning community welcomes both LGBTQIA+ community members and our allies to this year-long program.
PRISE Learning Community
To overcome disparities in educational opportunities, we assist and mentor Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students with dedicated ARC courses and learning cohorts.
Puente Project
The Puente Project is a national program designed to increase the number of underrepresented students who transfer to universities.
Umoja Sakhu Learning Community
The Umoja Sakhu Learning Community is open to all students and is specifically designed to increase retention, success rate, graduation and transfer rates of African ancestry students.
UNITE Center Communities
The UNITE Center is a hub for connection, support, and community on campus. It offers programs, resources, and events that celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, and help build meaningful relationships. It’s a place to explore your identity, connect with peers, and find support while pursuing your goals.
