PRISE = Pacific Islander/Asian American Resilience, Integrity, and Self-Empowerment through Education
PRISE is a student support program that enhances the experiences of Pacific Islander, Native Hawaiian, and Asian American (AANHPI) students at ARC. By fostering a supportive, culturally affirming, and empowering education, it strives to increase student success rates. It's open to all, including first-time, continuing, and returning students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Students must join the PRISE Learning Community in order to access specific course offerings and services.

Students who participate in campus programs tend to have higher success rates–not to mention a more fulfilling college experience. The faculty/staff and other students you’ll meet in PRISE often become mentors, future job references, and friends who will cheer you on during your educational journey. Plus, it’s free to join and requirements are minimal!
PRISE (Pacific Islander, Asian Resilience, Integrity, Self Determination through Education) learning community provides a home for all students that want to learn about the Asian American/Pacific Islander experience through literature and history. A learning community is a link of two or more classes that assist you with your college and transfer success.
This is a one-year commitment!

PRISE courses are taught with an Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander emphasis, highlighting the community college and cultural experience of these communities. While taking PRISE courses students will receive support inside and outside of the classrooms to promote a more cohesive, empowering, and supportive pathway to student success.
