Los Rios Native Celebration and Transfer Honoring Ceremony

Native American items

The Los Rios Native Graduation and Transfer Honoring Ceremony is a special gathering that honors the hard work, resilience, and accomplishments of Native graduates from across the District, including American River College, Sacramento City College, Cosumnes River College, and Folsom Lake College.

The celebration will include keynote speaker, Billy Mills (Oglala Lakota), and an opening prayer by Mary Tarango (Miwok Wilton Rancheria), cultural acknowledgements, community reflections, and the honoring of our graduates in a space centered on belonging, pride, and collective strength. Families, friends, and supporters are warmly encouraged to attend. Together, we will come in a good way to recognize each of our students' journeys — journeys uplifted by their families, communities, and ancestors — and to celebrate this important milestone.
