Before scheduling your session with a university representative, you must:

  1. Be a current student. If you are not a current student, apply to American River College.
  2. Have an Education Plan. Bring a copy of all relevant transcripts and your education plan, updated within the last semester, to your appointment. See a counselor for support in creating or updating your educational plan.
  3. Have a University of California Transfer Admissions Planner (TAP) account (for UC transfer appointments).

Please note that university representatives specialize in providing general advising to prospective transfers and addressing topics such as:

  1. Admissions
  2. Course selection to transfer
  3. Impacted majors and requirements
  4. General questions about majors, programs, campus life, resources, and services

The university representative does not advise on the the following topics (if you have questions about these, contact the university directly):

  1. Students that already have a bachelor's degree or higher
  2. Admission for international students
  3. Graduate programs
