Accreditation
The Los Rios Community College District consists of four comprehensive, public California community colleges: American River College, Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College, and Sacramento City College. American River College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation and the US Department of Education. The American River College educational centers are fully accredited under the college's accreditation status.

- The Automotive Technology Program is accredited by the National Automotive Technical Education Foundation (NATEF).
- The Chemical Dependency Program, which offers certification in alcohol and drug counseling, is certified by the California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP) and the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals.
- The Child Development Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education for Young Children.
- The Dietary Manager/Dietary Service Supervisor Certificate Program is accredited by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP).
- The Fire Technology Program is accredited by the California State Fire Marshal's Office.
- The Funeral Service Education Program is accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE).
