ARC Alumni Newsletter - February 2025
Welcome to 2025 from the ARC Alumni Association!
We’re kicking off the new year with big news and even bigger excitement! The much-anticipated Career and Tech Ed building is nearly complete, and we can’t wait to share it with you. This state-of-the-art space will give future students the tools to build their dreams—just like you did. Stay tuned for updates and ways to get involved!
ARC Alum Reyna Sanchez (above) is a graduate of ARC’s Welding Technology program, which will now be housed in the new ARC Career and Tech Ed Building.
A New Era for Career and Technical Education at ARC
The grand opening for a new LEED, silver certified Career Technical Education building will be held on April 23 from 9:30 to 11:30 in front of the new building. Taxpayer support helped fund the construction of the $58 million 91,000 square foot hub for students to pursue the Career and Tech Ed path of their dreams. However, these dollars only cover construction-related expenses and not the enhanced equipment to make the facility state-of-the-art. To bridge this gap, a five-year fundraising capital campaign resulted in over $2M raised through the generous support of alumni, emeriti, employees, and corporate donors to provide equipment and technology that will truly make the building an advanced facility where students can get real-world education and experience.
ARC’s culture of innovation and leadership in workforce development are reflected in the new building that will house the following degree and certificate programs: Automotive, Electronics, Electrician Trainee, Energy (Solar), Design and Engineering Technology, Funeral Services and Welding. It will also house the Design Hub, Maker Space, and Maker Space/Prototyping areas.
