Student Commencement Speaker Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in being the student speaker for the American River College Commencement Ceremony. Confirmed graduates receiving an associate degree with a Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 graduation date, and those who have petitioned to graduate with an expected graduation date of Spring 2025 may apply. The deadline to complete the below application is Sunday, April 6.

Applicants should be prepared to:

• Provide a written outline of their speech to pioa@arc.losrios.edu by Tuesday, April 15
• Give their full commencement speech (3-5 minutes) during the scheduled audition
• Attend an audition virtually the week of April 21 or 28 - exact dates and times will be provided with the scheduling email the week of April 7
• Work with a member of the communications faculty to fine-tune their speech if selected as the student speaker
• Attend commencement in person on Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 at 7 PM
