Reading Across the Disciplines (RAD)
Students Work In Small Group Sessions
Want to study more effectively? RAD Can Help!
RAD has both ½ unit and 1 unit classes designed to help you improve your class performance. You will learn reading and study strategies to increase quiz and test scores, make note taking simpler, and help prepare for essays.
RAD classes are structured to provide one-on-one or small group support that is individualized to best fit your needs and improve class performance.
Classes include: ENGRD 315, ENGRD 316, and ENGRD 314.
ENGRD 315 and 316 are half-unit classes that focus on study skills and test taking strategies to be applied to a class of your choosing. RAD can support you in any class or program on campus.
ENGRD 314 is a one-unit class that focuses on efficient and effective reading. Students will work on increasing their reading rate and keeping comprehension.

84% Of Students Who Complete RAD Pass Their Courses
Research on our program shows that RAD students have an 84% success rate in the accompanying curriculum class as opposed to the 60% success rate achieved by non-RAD students.
RAD instructors give relevant assignments, good advice, and provide a friendly atmosphere in which to learn and refine study techniques.
