This is your chance to shape student life and represent your peers! Whether you're passionate about advocacy, event planning, or student leadership, there’s a position for you.

To run for office, complete the Candidate Form by March 31, 2026 at 5:00 pm. Make sure to submit your form on time to be eligible!
The Student Senate serves as the primary governing body of the Associated Student Body (ASB), responsible for representing student interests, advocating for student rights, and working on campus issues. The Senate plays a key role in ensuring students' voices are heard in college decision-making and promotes activities that enhance student life.
Each position within the Student Senate provides opportunities for leadership, policy influence, and collaboration with college administration. As a member of the Student Senate, you will have the chance to work directly with faculty, staff, and other students to make a positive impact on campus.

The Clubs and Events Board (CAEB) is responsible for organizing campus-wide events, supporting student clubs, and fostering community engagement. CAEB plays a crucial role in enriching the campus environment by facilitating events that build student spirit and involvement.
Members of CAEB work closely with student organizations, campus departments, and the Student Senate to plan and execute activities that bring students together, create fun and educational experiences, and celebrate the diversity of the campus community.

To be eligible to run for any position on the Student Senate or the Clubs and Events Board (CAEB), candidates must meet the following criteria, in accordance with Los Rios Regulation 2231:
- Enrollment Requirement:
- Candidates must be enrolled at the college at the time of the election and throughout the fall and spring semesters of their term, in a minimum of five (5) semester units.

- Exception: Students registered in the DSPS (Disabled Student Programs and Services) program need only be enrolled at American River College (ARC) at the time of the election and throughout their term. There is no 5-unit minimum requirement for DSPS students.

- Candidates must be enrolled at the college at the time of the election and throughout the fall and spring semesters of their term, in a minimum of five (5) semester units.
- Academic Standing:
- Candidates must be in good standing (not less than a cumulative 2.0 grade point average) and not be on academic probation at the time of the election and throughout the fall and spring semesters of their term.
- Pre-Campaign Orientation Requirement:
- All qualified candidates must attend just one of the mandatory Campaign Orientations on the following dates:
- Wednesday April 1, 3:00 to 4:00 pm - Center for Leadership and Development
- Tuesday April 2, 12:00 to 1:00 pm - Center for Leadership and Development
- Monday April 6, 12:00 to 1:00 pm - Center for Leadership and Development
- Tuesday April 7, 3:00 to 4:00 pm- Center for Leadership and Development
- These sessions will cover campaign rules and regulations to ensure a fair election process.
- All qualified candidates must attend just one of the mandatory Campaign Orientations on the following dates:
The Student Trustee represents the student perspective at the Los Rios Board of Trustees meetings and chairs the Student Advisory Committee. This districtwide position allows you to advocate for students at a higher level, influence policy decisions, and ensure that student voices are included in the district's decision-making processes.

Spring 2026 Student Elections
Student elections will be held on April 21 and 22, 2026. Voting is conducted online, from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm each day. Currently-enrolled students can vote for on-campus student association leaders as well as the districtwide student trustee.
How to Vote
Voting only takes a few minutes and makes a lasting impact on your campus environment and student experience! Here's how to cast your vote:
- Log in to eServices on April 21 or 22 between 8:00 am and 11:30 pm.
- Click on Other Resources.
- Click on Elections & Surveys.
- Review candidate information in the Student Voter Guide.
- Proceed to the voting site – and vote!
