About the Program
Kyoto is an exciting city in which to live and study! An afternoon stroll along the Kamo Gawa (river) is set amidst the green forested hills of Kyoto. You can explore Japanese culture, language, cuisine, hobbies, art, and religion… through the lens of Cultural Anthropology!
View the magnificent Kiyomizudera, hike the iconic orange torii gates at Fushimi Inari, and discuss anime or manga at the local coffee shop! You can admire the sacred architecture of Shinto Shrines and Buddhist Temples adorning this beautiful city. Feed the deer in Nara, explore the Kinokuniya bookshop, or the bamboo forests in Arashiyama.
Visit one of the most popular spots in Kyoto, the Pontochodori, a narrow cobblestone road for fun nightlife and authentic experiences in this ancient capital of Japan.
Spots in this Summer Study Abroad program will fill quickly! Please email Professor Debi Worth at worthd@flc.losrios.edu to access the registration link and confirm there is still space available in the program.
