About the Program
Kyoto is an exciting city in which to live and study! An afternoon stroll along the Kamo Gawa (river) is set amidst the green forested hills of Kyoto. You can explore Japanese culture, language, cuisine, hobbies, art, and religion… through the lens of Cultural Anthropology!
View the magnificent Kiyomizudera, order ramen from a vending machine, hike the iconic orange torii gates at Fushimi Inari, and discuss anime or manga at a pet café! Feed the deer in Nara, explore the Kinokuniya bookshop, or the bamboo forests in Arashiyama. You can admire the sacred architecture of Shinto Shrines and Buddhist Temples adorning this beautiful city or dive into Super Nintendo World or visit the Pokémon Café in nearby Osaka. Visit one of the most popular spots in Kyoto, the Pontochodori, a narrow ancient cobblestone road, the heartbeat of nightlife and authentic experiences, in this ancient capital of Japan.
Spots in this Summer Study Abroad program will fill quickly! Please email Professor Debi Worth at worthd@flc.losrios.edu to attend the required Information Meetings and get access the registration link and confirm there is still space available in the program.
