Request Library Instruction
Use this form to request a full library orientation/customized instruction session for your class. A librarian will work with you to design a session that supports your students' specific research needs.
You can request:
- In-person instruction (held in your classroom)
- Live online instruction (via Zoom)
We ask for at least one week's notice to allow time for planning and preparation. For more details, see the Library Instruction FAQ or contact David McCusker at mccuskd@arc.losrios.edu
To ensure access to this form, first sign in using your Los Rios Single Sign-On.
ARC Library Research Tutorials in Canvas
The ARC Library Research Tutorials is a free, self-paced Canvas course designed by Los Rios librarians to help students build essential college-level research skills. Faculty can assign the full set or select individual modules to support a specific assignment, offer extra credit, or reinforce research skills.
Each of the six modules includes brief readings, videos, and a quiz. Students earn a certificate of completion (JPEG format) after passing each quiz with a score of 75% or higher, making it easy to verify and collect submissions in Canvas.
Faculty Resources:
- Self-enroll link for students – this permalink remains the same even when we update/move the Canvas course. If you link to individual modules or pages, you will need to update those links each academic year.
- Faculty Guide with sample assignment and certificate details.
- Student-facing Research Tutorials page – overview of the course, module topics, and a link to the student FAQ on certificates.
For questions about assigning the tutorials or how to support students using the course, contact Sarah Lehmann at lehmans@arc.losrios.edu.
