American River College provides resources for student-parents and embraces a family-friendly philosophy.
Foster and Kinship Care Education Program
The Foster and Kinship Care Education Program (FKCE) provides free parenting training for foster parents and interested non-foster parents. ARC is proud to offer these classes on a rotating basis each year to fulfill California's mandated training requirement.
EOP&S, CARE, and NextUp
EOP&S (Extended Opportunity Programs and Services) offers educational support services to eligible students historically excluded and/or underserved, including CARE students (single heads of households receiving CalWORKs cash aid) and NextUp students (current and/or former foster youth).
ARC Hub
ARC Hub is a free tool students can use to search for free or reduced-cost services like medical care, food, job training, and more.
Refugee Career Pathways
The Refugee Career Pathways program helps refugees, SIVs, and asylees identify, plan and start their careers.
What Is Rising Scholars?
This program is designed to facilitate the transition from the criminal justice system to receiving a college degree or certificate. This program helps end recidivism.
UndocuScholar Resource Connection
We empower students, employees, and community members who are undocumented, of mixed-status family, or allies, to reach their academic, personal, and professional goals.
Veterans Resource Center Office
We are dedicated to assisting Veteran students and their families with their ARC educational and VA-related needs.
