Classroom ADA Furniture Request

If you require a specialized table or a specialized chair to be placed in the classroom which you are attending you should take the following steps:
Must have "Specialized Chair" or "Specialized Table" accommodation previously approved by your ARC DSPS Counselor.

  1. Most classrooms on campus already have ADA furniture. Attend the first class meeting and make an observation of what DSPS furniture is already placed in the classroom. Is the furniture that you require already placed in the classroom? If so, you can go ahead and use the furniture. If there is a non-DSPS student using the furniture that you require, you may let the student know that the table or chair used by the student is designated for DSPS students first. You may also ask the instructor to help facilitate.
  2. If you decide that the furniture in the classroom is inadequate for your needs, you may request additional DSPS furniture be delivered/placed in the classroom. To do so, you must contact the ARC DSPS Office directly:
  3. Please provide the course information, and brief description of the type of chair needed. An additional set of questions may be asked specifically for obtaining additional information needed to make sure the table/chair furniture style/placement is adequate for your needs.
